In October and November 2024, the smallest engraving in the world of
William Shakespeare was displayed at Stratford-upon-Avon in the
playwright’s former home.
The artwork, called The Bard of Avon, is based on the iconic portrait of Shakespeare by Martin Droeshout in 1623.
“I’m very happy with the finished engraving on a speck of gold inside the eye of a needle. I spent several days in Stratford meeting the visitors to the centre. They enjoyed viewing it.”
