Churchill's "We shall fight them on the beaches" speech

Updated: Nov 11, 2024

Completing this was a relief! I began at the end of February with the goal of finishing it by June 6th, which marked the 75th Anniversary of the D-Day landings.

The famous 'We Shall Fight on the Beaches' speech by Sir Winston Churchill is engraved on the tip of a World War II bullet, consisting of 76 words and 305 letters.

My main challenge with this project was keeping the bullet stable while I engraved on its tip. Despite being the tiniest engraving I've done, it conveys an iconic speech that carries a strong message.

It is a solemn reminder that 75 years ago, we witnessed the departure of the largest naval invasion force in history heading towards France. Each soldier embarked carrying a pack, a rifle, and the hope of returning safely.
